World Thyroid day 2022 at Kathmandu Diabetes and Thyroid Center

Posted on May-25-2022

If you are shedding weight, feeling exhausted, or losing a dart on a target, it might not be you. As the world thyroid day 2022 chants, “it’s not you, it's your thyroid”, you might be on the brim of thyroid toxicity that’s eating you all day. What’s the thyroid? It is a butterfly-shaped gland, located beneath Adam’s apple of your neck. It produces the hormone that administers the overall metabolism process. Nothing goes well if it either produces too much hormone (hyperthyroidism) or doesn’t create enough (hypothyroidism).

Similarly, thyroid disorder’s symptoms like fatigue, constipation, brittle nails, muscle weakness, hair loss and so on overlap with other health problems, it is often misdiagnosed and overlooked. Thus, World Thyroid Day 2022 is an attempt to raise awareness about the thyroid gland and its effects on the human body, when it’s under-produced or over-produced. Kathmandu Diabetes and Thyroid Center, located at Jawalakhel chowk, Lalitpur is in a similar attempt to inform and educate people about thyroid disorders.

On 24th and 25th May, KDTC has offered a 50 % discount on specific laboratory tests

  • TFT- Thyroid Functioning Test ( the test ensures if your thyroid hormone is within the specified range)
  • RBS- Random Blood Sugar (it ensures the blood sugar level in the human body)
  • Ultrasound Neck (it checks whether your thyroid gland is giving rise to uncertain lumps/growths, tumours, and nodules)

KDTC anticipates that most of us will avail the benefits of such offers on the occasion of world thyroid day 2022.
